HIFZ COURSE (MEMORIZATION OF QUR’AN)
At Academy of Light, students memorize the entire Qur’an or portions of it, in an orderly and systematic manner.
How it begins?
Students begin with learning the Qaid’ah; once they are well-versed with the Qaid’ah, the next step is memorizing Juz ‘Amma. Once they become familiar with reciting and pronouncing the alphabets correctly, then finally they start their Hifz.
Memorization (Hifz) takes place under the LLR technique. i.e.
L Listening of Present lesson
L Learning of future lesson
R Revision of Past lessons
To facilitate and ease the process of memorization and perfection in recitation, students are also sent audio recordings of their future lessons.
Once a student starts Hifz, memorization begins from Surah An-Naas from Juz ‘Amma, progressing in the ascending i.e going on to Juz 29. (Juz Tabaarak al ladhi). When the student is well-versed with Juz ‘Amma, he/she then proceeds to next Juz.
On the other hand, the students enrolled in Nazrah; once they memorize 10-15 Surahs, then they proceed to longer Surahs like Surah Yaseen, Surah Mulk etc.
